The Art of Park Avenue
Original Art from Barrington & the Chicago Metro Area
The Art of Park Avenue promises to visually please you as we introduce emerging, evolving and established artists. All art is for sale and artists are also available for commissions. Please contact the individual artist more information.
Main Level Exhibits
Bill Stone - Barrington resident Bill Stone's oil paintings are emotionally charged and dense with feeling. Energetic thick strokes create a weight and sense of elegance to his vibrant abstract works and adds vital spirit to his expressive figures. Bill's work invites the viewer to become lost in a myriad of color, texture and movement while challenging internal reflection, emotion and response. As a radically observant artist, Bill is able to conceptualize his passionate instincts onto the canvas, capturing the power of universal breath and vitality. Bill’s website is www.billstonestudio.com.
Nathalie Spampinato-Brosse - Nathalie was born in Etampes, a town near Paris, France. As a youth, she attended l‘Ecole d’Etampes, an Art Studio created by the famous painter Philippe Lejeune. Nathalie graduated from the Estienne School (Ecole supérieure des Arts et Industrie Graphique) in Paris, earning her Bachelor's degree DMA–Editorial Art (Typography and illustration) in 1990. Nathalie also worked for eight years with Jean-Pierre Jauneau as a graphic designer. In 2007, she moved to Chicago and has found her way back to her first passion, drawing and painting. We are excited to feature several of Nathalie's watercolor paintings and woodcut prints. Nathalie’s website is www.spampinato-artwork.com.
Upper Level Exhibits
Alex Brubacher - Alex's work has an expressionistic street-style fundamentally based on his knowledge of classical painting and illustration. He seeks to represent an illusory moment or dreamlike fabrication of time, place and emotion. Alex received his BFA with a concentration in illustration from Northern Michigan University. His murals grace Park Avenue's Burgundy Room and the exterior Cook Street side of McGonigal's Pub. His work also appears in Michigan Avenue's Nike Town and other hip venues. Alex believes that connections to certain people and locations brew strong emotional feelings that leave him bonded to them. He loves that his work will live for a long time in Barrington. Alex's website is www.alexbrubacher.com.
Susan McConnell - The exhibited collection "Have you seen Paris like this?" is a view of Paris that most people never see. Susan traveled through Paris with two native guides who steered clear of traditional sites and dished up views that were distinctively Paris and instinctively different. Susan has an MBA from DePaul University and is self-taught in photography. Susan's photography has received awards for private images as well as images created for public collections. Her work may be seen on covers and in feature articles in Quintessential Barrington Magazine, Northshore Magazine and Martha's Vineyard Magazine. More of Susan's photography is available from her Facebook page and her studio Musee Fine Art Gallery & Market.
